National Coordinators Meetings • National Coordinators Meeting (Nairobi) in May • insufficient consultation with National Coordinators • too much seems to originate from Washington • need to improve communication • Sub-Regional meetings in Kampala, Bujumbura and Ouagadougou, September 2010 – Preparation for SSATP Annual Meeting 2010 • country progress & feedback in advance of meeting • ideas for policy performance measurement  Ministers SSATP Annual Meeting 2010

SSATP – current issues Implementation • Inconsistent results from relying on governments & development partners for implementation Partnership • Weak interaction with SSATP National Coordinators • Coordination with all current transport initiatives & interests • Need to interact with all transport players (eg including China) Funding • Reductions in funding for transport from bilateral donors Future • What happens after the Second Development Plan (DP2)? SSATP Annual Meeting 2010

SSATP Second Development Plan (DP2) mid-term review • Output to purpose review will be carried out to review progress and assist in planning for the future. • Many activities delayed, much of DP2 funding only available 21 months after planned start. • Plan for mid-term review early 2011. • Details of mid-term review to be presented to SSATP General Assembly at Annual Meeting.
