Mission The mission of the Brain Injury Association of Delaware is, a non-profit organization whose mission is to create a better future through brain injury prevention, education, advocacy and support. Promotes the following: • Efforts to provide Delawareans with medical care, treatment, rehabilitation and housing for individuals with brain injury.
Provide education materials to support brain injury survivors, families and caretakers. • Provide emotional support through support groups. (For survivors, families and caretakers) • Promote public awareness. • Promote the development of programs and facilities for rehabilitation of individuals with brain injury.

Policies and Procedures Policies on Board Member Expectations • Member must be in good standing • Serve a term of three years • Attend bi-monthly board meetings, missing no more than two consecutive meetings in a row. (Call-ins are accepted)
Branding/Logo Usage The use the official branding or logo, must be approved by the Board of Directors of the Brain Injury Association of Delaware. Those who would like to use the branding/logo must provide a request in writing 30 days prior to usage. Anyone using the logo without permission, may be subject to legal action at the discretion of the Board of Directors of the Brain Injury Association of Delaware
Publications/Educational Materials Policy Any creation of official publication must be approved by the Board of Directors. Publications include: educational materials, flyers, marketing materials, resource directories. This policy affects all members of the association, its staff, board of directors, members, and anyone who is acting on the behalf of the association. Any materials not approved from the board of directors will be removed from usage.
Structure President- Chief Executive Officer of the Association. Officers- President, Vice President, Secretary Board of Directors- composed of ten members who are in good standing.
Governance Robert’s Rules of Order governs the conduct of the business of the organization. Robert’s Rules is a book that provides guidance on running a meeting or conference in fairness and effectiveness.
Funding The Brain Injury Association of Delaware will have its 23rd Annual Conference to be held at Dover Downs March 12th and 13th . The annual conference is sponsored by various organizations: hospitals, nursing schools, attorneys, physical rehabilitation groups. Funding is also provided by in-kind donations, government funding and other grant proposals.

Strengths, Trends and Strategies • The will to provide community service to those living everyday with traumatic brain injury. • A commitment to providing the proper resources for survivors and their families. • It is a challenge to raise enough financial support in order to sustain the organizations mission and vision.
Role of the Intern • Provide administrative support. • Community outreach • Developing advertising materials for fundraising events. • Agency support • Grant proposals for fundraising.
