How many and which modules do I need to take? • The number of modules that you have to do at the Business School depends on the number of prior credits that you have been awarded. • Which modules you need to take and are allowed to take will also depend on this (pre-requisites) • Important – check your credits (click on summary), completion date and mode of study Business School
Types of Modules • Stage 1 (usually the first year) • Basic Modules • Stage 2 (the second and final year) • Acceptable (advanced) • Compulsory Modules • Minimum of 4 Honours Components Business School
Your Final Degree Classification • Class of degree is based on the number of number of acceptable (advanced) modules that you have to take to complete your honours degree at the Business School. A minimum of 4 Honours components will always be included • e.g. “Honours on best X modules”. Business School
Classifications • 70%+ First (A) • 60-69% Upper Second (B+) • 50-59% Lower Second (B) • 40-49% Third (C) • 30-39% Resit (Easter, July) • Below 30% - Fail Business School
Possible Problems • Failing a module • Resit awarded if your mark is between 30% and 39% • Less than 30% = Retake – same module if compulsory • Illness or other issues affecting your performance • Act promptly • Act correctly • Contact Academic Adviser Business School
