Progression • pass • overall cw and exam mark: above 35% • first year (ft) • no re-sit: 3 cu at level 1 • re-sit: 4 cu at level 1 • second year (ft) • no re-sit: 3 cu at level 2 • re-sit: 4 cu at level 2
Degree • rough formula • 6 best ½ cu at level 1 (w1) • 6 best ½ cu at level 3 (w5) • 8 best ½ cu at level 2 and (remaining) 3 (w3) • 1cu == 2 * ½ cu of the same mark • final year project must be considered • final assessment: 10 cu • must pass: 9(old)/10(new) cu • must have proper attempt to all 12 cu
Results • letter from college • marks • advice on failed modules (how to retake) • by August 1st • department database • results will not be published on your profile until after the college has sent the letters
Transfers • end of level 1 • must pass year 1 • straightforward between computing programmes • from computing to CDW • must “lose” 1 year • from CDW to computing: • probably must “lose” 1 year • may be possible to take exam in IS and E-Business at end of year 2
Transfers • end of level 2 • must pass year 2 • between computing programmes • options available (some will become compulsory) to make up for the unattended courses • prevent re-doing material already studied at level 2 • from computing to CDW • must lose 1 year; do both Design modules + nformally work on project • from CDW to computing: • must lose 1 year; do both “lost” cu + informally work on project
Good Practice • a few points • cw submission / excuses • formal evidence normally required • problems • contact PT (or someone else DST, DOS, Secretary) asap • this may become proof of extenuating circumstances • keep good contact with PT • meetings with staff • surgeries • ask for appointments • check your college email regularly • make sure we have your correct contact details
