The Universities • The language of instruction is mainly German (a few courses in other languages; please see www.oead.at/international_programmes) • 2 semesters per year (fall – October ; spring – March) Bachelor (學士) 3 years Master (碩士) 2 yearsPhD (博士) 4 or more years • Living expenses (生活費 ): approx. € 700 / month
Academic Universities 學術性大學 Public Universities (公立大學) : • Some universities require to provide proof of admission letter from a university in Hong Kong • Some courses have entrance exams (i.e. business administration, economics, biology, pharmacy, psychology, mass media & communication, etc) • Courses are mainly taught in German (a few courses in other languages; please see www.oead.at/international_programmes) • Tuition fees (EURO 727 per year & up) Private universities (私立大學): • Admission requirements & tuition fees are varies from individual universities • Some universities are taught entirely in English • A total of 12 private universities in Austria
Universities of Arts 藝術類大學 • 6 Universities of the Arts in Austria offering programmes like music, drama, film, fine arts or applied arts • Compulsory entrance examination • Language of instruction is German
Universities of Applied Sciences (FH)應用科技大學 / 高等專業學院 • More practice-oriented education • Compulsory entrance examination / interview • Courses are mainly taught in German (some courses are taught in English; please see www.oead.at/international_programmes-Medical & pharmaceutical biotechnology - Export-oriented management - Business & management - Electronics & business - Tourism & leisure management • Tuition fees (EURO 4000 – 9000/year – depending on study programs)
Applying for Residence Permit(居留許可證) Hong Kong Passport Holders are eligible to enter Austria for 3 months without visa • Admission letter from Austrian Institutions (大學取錄信) • Proof of accommodation in Austria (住宿證明) • Confirmation of Tuition Payment (學費收據) • Financial proof (證明銀行存有一年的生活費) • One month travel insurance (一個月的旅遊保險) • Birth Certificate + Certificate of No Criminal Conviction (legalized by High Court) (經「高等法院認證處 」認證的出世紙及良民證 • Parental consent (父母擔保信)
