  1. Great Preachers of Today

  2. CLAIMING A MOUNTAIN AFTER 45 YEARS – JOSHUA 14:10-13 Caleb claimed the mountain God Promised “Not one of these men of this evil generation shall see the good land …36 except Caleb the son of Jephunneh. He shall see it, and to him and to his children I will give the land on which he has trodden, because he has wholly followed the Lord!” Deuteronomy 1:35-36

  3. A LACK OF CONFIDENCE “they brought to the people of Israel a bad report of the land that they had spied out, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people that we saw in it are of great height. 33 And there we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.” Numbers 13:32-33

  4. A Lack of Power Why is the Lord bringing us into this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will become a prey. Would it not be better for us to go back to Egypt?” 4 And they said to one another, “Let us choose a leader and go back to Egypt.”

  5. God “Forgot” Them “Say to them, ‘As I live, declares the Lord, what you have said in my hearing I will do to you: 29 your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness, and of all your number, listed in the census from twenty years old and upward, who have grumbled against me, 30 not one shall come into the land where I swore that I would make you dwell, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun.” Numbers 14:28-30

  6. CALEB’S CONFIDENCE NEVER CEASED And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, just as he said, these forty-five years since the time that the Lord spoke this word to Moses, while Israel walked in the wilderness. And now, behold, I am this day eighty-five years old. Joshua 14:10

  7. CALEB’S STRENGTH NEVER FAILED I am still as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me; my strength now is as my strength was then, for war and for going and coming. Joshua 14:11

  8. CALEB’S GOD NEVER FORGOT Then Joshua blessed him, and he gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance. 14 Therefore Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he wholly followed the Lord, the God of Israel. Joshua 14:13-14

  9. DO YOU HAVE A MOUNTAIN TO CLAIM? • YOU WILL NEED CALEB’S CONFIDENCE IN GOD. • YOU WILL NEED CALEB’S SPIRITUAL STRENGTH. • YOU WILL NEED CALEB’S GOD WHO NEVER FORGETS.
