Introduction • The game of Poker is full of action- the kind of action that is not loud, but takes place silently amongst the minds of players at a Poker table. • That’s what makes this game distinct and more exciting. • To be a successful online Poker player or an offline one, you need to examine and understand the actions of your opponents and decipher who is a threat and who isn’t. • Poker bullies will not attack or harm you physically, but will try to control and dominate you mentally. • But like every other bully, they are weak on the inside and can be tackled with the right Poker strategy. Time to train:-
1) Know them • All bullies are aggressive players, but all aggressive players are not bullies. The first thing to do is to identify a Poker bully. • Bullies will strive to push you off the pot before pre-flop itself. • A three-bet (a re-raise; indicator of a super strong Poker hand) is what they will use to scare you. And fear is exactly what a bully preys on. • Don’t give in and keep playing more hands to show that you will not be dominated.
2) Talk to them • Most bullies are weak and silent, and thus look for weakness in others. • They will prefer to just find your weak points and exploit them instead of having a chat with you. • When you engage a Poker bully in a conversation, you take them out of their comfortable, silent zone and come across as a confident player. • Most probably you won’t be targeted anymore because Confidence cannot be bullied.
3) Fight with a Four Bet • As mentioned earlier, a three-bet is the weapon a bully uses to frighten his target. • He will be desperate to make you fold before the flop so as to maintain his bully image and increase fear. • If you have even a moderately strong Poker hand, you can fight back with a four-bet, i.e. a raise on the re-raise. • This Poker strategy will help establish the fact that you won’t be scared easily.
4) Pick your fight • There will be a lot of chances to teach a bully the lesson he deserves. • This is simply because of the frequency in which he will mess with you- a bully will try to beat you down numerous times and that actually can be a good thing as this will create opportunities for you to beat him down. • Plan out a bluff keeping into account the pot size, other players’ stacks and your enemy’s stacks. • Once the bully falls for the bluff, it will automatically be announced to the table that you are the player that knows how to beat a Poker bully.
Conclusion Roll up your sleeves, it’s time to beat the bullies as you play online Poker and win cash and respect at the Poker table.
