  2. Introduction • Poker games have been attracting more and more people with each passing day. The game has proved itself to be so interesting and rewarding that even rich and famous celebrities haven’t been able to stay away. Many actors, athletes, businessmen etc. are now spotted at the table playing online Poker or live games. • Let’s have a look at some of the celebrities who indulge in Poker games:

  3. 1) Tobey Maguire • Tobey Maguire, best remembered as “the Spiderman”, is the most involved celebrity in Poker. He is a regular winner in high stakes live and online Poker games. • Spidey has been playing Poker since 2004 and is considered as a good player but a bad loser; and a worse tipper.  •  (Not so heroic after all, eh?) Tobey also refuses to play Poker without his Shuffle Master, a $17,000 device that is supposed to deliver a fair, random shuffle every time and increase the speed of each game. Yeah!

Ben Affleck has long back proved his merit as an actor, writer and director.Otherthan the latest flick of the Batman franchise, you might know him from Pearl Harbor and Gone Girl. • Ben has been tutored by professional Poker players Annie Duke and Amir Vahedi and thus is a skilled Poker player. He has made about $500,000 in face-to-face tournaments, and has been known to regularly play in high stakes cash games. • His greatest win was sweeping the 2004 California State Poker Championship, winning $356,400.

  5. 3) Michael Phelps • Unarguably, Michael Phelps is the most decorated Olympian of all time, with 28 gold medals in Swimming. • The athlete retired from the sport after the 2012 summer games in London at the age of 27. Since then, Michael has been playing Poker.  • Though not a very huge cash accumulator, Phelps looks excited about the game as he can be seen hanging out with Antonio Esfandiari and making his presence felt by making it to the final table at the 2008 Caesars Palace Classic.

But more importantly, Matt made a remarkable impact through “Rounders”; probably the most vital movie about Poker. • It is said that his role inspired many to become professional Poker players. • Another impressive fact about Matt Damon is that he comes off as a polite and mild mannered player.

  7. 5) Aaron Paul • Three-time Emmy award winner Aaron Paul’s fame came after he amazingly portrayed the character of Jesse Pinkman in Breaking Bad.  • The actor also enjoys the game of Poker and says, “I have a lot of respect for this game.”  • He has been seen actively participating in the 2015 WSOP Main event and PokerStars Championship Bahamas Main Event to name a few.
