Introduction • Awareness about and love for the game of Poker is increasing rapidly in India. • Other than just professional Poker players, many actors, businessmen, and even ordinary people are enjoying themselves and making money at Poker parties being organized regularly. • Let’s check out the love for Poker of some Indian celebrities:

Aamir Khan • A big name in the Indian film industry, Aamir Khan loves to play card games. • This can be known by the fact that he has half a dozen card tables put up on the first floor of his Union Park residence where Flush, Poker and Rummy are played. • As Aamir likes to host his fellow actors and directors, people enjoy games in which the stakes range from Rs. 5 to Rs. 5K. • However Aamir’sPoker skills are not as impressive as his acting. • Bullies will strive to push you off the pot before pre-flop itself.

Jeetendra • Jeetendra is one of the very few classic gems of Bollywood who is still a Poker enthusiast. • Two floors of his huge bungalow “Krishna” are packed with Poker tables that remind you of an Atlanta casino.  • Small and big tables are decorated beautifully with bright velvet table-cloth; rummy counters, change and notes dispensing facilities are available with a bar in the far corner of the room.  • Regulars include Rakesh Roshan, HirooJohar, Dimple Kapadia, and Shobha Kapoor.

Raj Kundra • Millionaire businessman and owner of Rajasthan Royals, an Indian Premiere League cricket team, Raj Kundra is an avid Poker player.  • Kundra became a familiar name in Indian households after his marriage to Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.  • Many celebrities are frequently seen at Kundra’s Poker parties in his Juhu house.

SikanderKher • Anupam and KirronKher’s son Sikander came in Bollywood with Woodstock Villa in 2008. • Though he was more noticed and appreciated after his performance in the second season of the famous TV series “24”.  • Sikander is a regular Poker player who likes to frequent the Poker rooms of Goa.  • He performed exceptionally well in the Ultimate Poker Challenge tournament series’ 2012 edition, where he finished three times in the final table.  • He also came second in the January 2013 30K IPC Main Event.

  7. Harman Baweja • Though Harman hasn’t had much success on the silver screen, he is well known for his Poker skills.  • He can frequently be seen at domestic Poker tournaments.  • Securing the second spot in the IPC 10K Freezeout in December 2010, he made Rs. 1,70,000. • He also took home Rs. 1.2 Lakhs in IPC 12K Headhunters held in April 2011 and stood 7th in December 2011 IPC 30K Main Event and was awarded Rs 90K.
