  1. Some Athkaar (pertaining to the remembrance of ALLAAH) Prepared by: M. Tahir Farrath (mtfarrath@webmail.co.za) ‘Abedullaah bin Busr (Rodiyal LAAHU ‘anh) reported that a man said: O Messenger of ALLAAH, the doctrines of Islaam are too many for me, so acquaint me with something to which I may cling. He said: Your tongue shall not cease to be saturated with the Thikr of ALLAAH. ‘Abedullaah bin ‘Umar (Rodiyal LAAHU ‘anh) reported from the Prophet (Sollal LAAHU ‘alayhi wa Sallam) who used to say: There is a polish for everything, and the polish of the heart is the Thikr of ALLAAH. And nothing can save more from the Chastisement of ALLAAH than the Thikr of ALLAAH. They (then) asked: Not even Jihaad in the way of ALLAAH? He said: Not even if he fights with his sword till it breaks.

  2. Abuu Hurayroh (Rodiyal LAAHU ‘anh) reported that the Messenger of ALLAAH (Sollal LAAHU ‘alayhi wa Sallam)said: “Whoever says: Laa ilaaha illal LAAHU Wahdahuu Laa Shariika Lahuu, Lahul Mulku wa Lahul Hamdu wa Huwa ‘alaa kulli Shay-in Qadiir(un) There is no god but ALLAAH, the One, having no partner with Him, to Him belongs the Sovereignty, and all praise is due to Him, and He has Power over everything. 100 times would get the reward of freeing ten slaves, one hundred good deeds would be written for him, one hundred sins would be remitted from him, (and) it would be a shield for him from Shaytaan for that day till the night, and nobody would arrive with better than what he has, except for one who had done more than him”. NB: It was reported that the Prophet (Sollal LAAHU ‘alayhi wa Sallam) used to include this Thikr once at the end of each obligatory prayer.

  3. Abuu Hurayroh (Rodiyal LAAHU ‘anh) reported that the Messenger of ALLAAH (Sollal LAAHU ‘alayhi wa Sallam) said: “Whoever says in a day: Subehaanal LAAHI wa bi-Hamdihii Glory be to ALLAAH and praise is due to Him. 100 times, his (minor) faults are forgiven though they are like the waves of the sea. He also said that whoever says this at dawn and at dusk 100 times, none will bring on Resurrection Day better than what he brought, except one saying the like of what he said or more than it NB: “More” could include utterances such as Laa ilaaha illal Laah and other legislated sayings.

  4. Abuu Hurayroh (Rodiyal LAAHU ‘anh) reported that the Messenger of ALLAAH (Sollal LAAHU ‘alayhi wa Sallam) said: Two words are light on the tongue, heavy in the Balance (of the Hereafter), dear to the Merciful (Lord) i.e.: Subehaanal LAAHI wa bi-Hamdihii wa Subehaanal LAAHIL ‘Adhiim(i). Glory be to ALLAAH and praise is due to Him and Glory be to ALLAAH, the Tremendous. Jaabir (Rodiyal LAAHU ‘anh) reported that the Messenger of ALLAAH (Sollal LAAHU ‘alayhi wa Sallam) said: Whoever says: Subehaanal LAAHIL ‘Adhiimiwa bi-Hamdihii Glorybe to ALLAAH, the Tremendous and praise is due to Him. A palm tree is planted for him in Paradise. ALLAAHU AKBAR!!
