  2. Operation Overlord Man Behind the Plan • General DwightD. Eisenhower • Born October 14th, 1890, in Denison, Texas. • Served two years with the19th Infantry at Fort Sam Houston, Texas,Eisenhower's reputation grew when WWI ensued. • Due to his successes, the Combined Chiefs of Staff named him Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Forcefor the invasion of Normandy, Code named Operation OVERLORD, the attack was to be the decisive act of World War II
