Manufacturing - 11.9% GDP - 175 000 Construction - 10% GDP - 124 000 Waste is wasted profit - opportunity 58% of CPPP from these sectors Integral to notion of “Smart State” Strong regional focus Manufacturing - reps. over $14 billion with 2.2% growth Construction - reps. $12 billion but also accounts for 40% landfill disposal and 16% greenhouse gases. With manufacturing reps. Over 75% of landfill waste. So - enormous opportunities to reduce wastes, turn them to profits and reduce environmental impacts. 58% - 63 of 109 approved applications and 32 of 56 pending Over 50% of applications were from regional Qld.
