It provides support for the purchase of musical instruments Award 1 – Non-professional performing groups Total funding available for Award 1: €163,400 Award 2 – Individual professional performing musicians Total funding available for Award 2: €82,000 Application Process: Visit www.musicnetwork.ie/musicians/funding - download guidelines & set up account Log in to fill in the application form/upload support materials – can done be in stages Submit online application by the deadline: 2pm, Thursday 21st March 2019 Secondary Title Making Live Music Happen www.musicnetwork.ie

Priorities of Award 1MCS 2019 Award 1 Guidelines, p1-2 • Clare, Laois, Leitrim, Longford, Monaghan, Roscommon, Westmeath • RAPID areas (RevitalisingAreas through Planning, Investment and Development) • Who can apply? • Non-professional performing groups (see table on page 2 of the guidelines) • Based in ROI • Performing in any genre • Note: Instruments must be used for rehearsal/tuition andperformance Secondary Title Making Live Music Happen www.musicnetwork.ie

Conditions of Award 1 – All Applicants MCS 2019 Award 1 Guidelines p2 • Based & regularly using instruments in ROI • Can apply for up to 75% of instrument costs (total instrument costs must not exceed €25,000. i.e. maximum possible award is €18,750) • Demonstrate how remaining 25% will be funded • Constituted organisation: not-for-profit / voluntary / charitable body with RCN • Child / Vulnerable Adults Protection and Welfare Policies and Procedures in place (as applicable) • Clear policy for instrument use & ongoing training / support of players • Provision of housing, insurance, maintenance, repair Secondary Title Making Live Music Happen www.musicnetwork.ie

Who can apply?MCS 2019 Award 2 Guidelines, p2 • Individual professional performers aged 18 and over, performing in any genre • Resident in ROI (certain exceptions apply) • Note: Previous awardees who have not complied with award conditions cannot apply • Priority of Award 2 • Public Service in Education Dividend (PSED) • Donation of two hours per annum to local education initiative • Conditions of Award 2 - all applicants • Up to 50% of instrument cost will be awarded; applicant must demonstrate how remaining 50% will be funded • Use the instrument in ROI • Provision of housing, insurance, maintenance, repair Secondary Title Making Live Music Happen www.musicnetwork.ie

Conditions of award – successful applicantsAward 1 p 7 / Award 2 p 6-7 • Write to Music Network within two weeks to arrange drawdown of award • Awards over €10,000 require tax clearance details • Any proposed change to the instrument(s) for purchase must be approved by Music Network • Receipts must be submitted to Music Network: • Within six months of award (Award 1) • Within ten months of award (Award 2) • Provision of annual reports • Acknowledgement of award • Non-compliance with conditions – award to be refunded Secondary Title Making Live Music Happen www.musicnetwork.ie
