  1. Configuring PulseNet

  2. PulseNet Setup First, under the setup menu, select Configure Plant Location. Fill in the appropriate information. Plant ID can distinguish multiple plants that are owned by the same company.

  3. PulseNet Setup Click on Save to save the information and return to the main screen.

  4. Port Configuration If the computer was shipped from Softrol with the Arcnet card and PulseNet installed, the communications port should already be configured. If the site is “restored”, this setting will reflect the previous site and may need to be changed. Click on the help (yellow question mark) button for step by step instructions.

  5. Configure Groups This screen allows the user to enter the different types of washers and make different formula groups. A Group of washers has all the same formulas.

  6. Catalyst Group Click on Name and call the first group “Catalyst”. Click on Insert and enter in ID 240. Use the mouse to highlight Catalyst Plus Podium under the controller type.

  7. Washer Group Click on the Add button and add the appropriate number of groups. Use the name button to give the group a name. Use insert button to insert all the machines into that group. Select the appropriate controller type.

  8. Washer Group Fill in the appropriate information for the remaining groups. Be sure to select the proper controller type. Click on Save to save and exit. Preview will allow you to see the FPD display for the selected controller.

  9. Configure Supply Inventory Data This is used for reporting purposes. This usually gets the Brand name for the chemicals and the unit is generally in Gallons or Gal. The cost/unit is usually $/Gal.

  10. Configure Supply Inventory Data Use the Name button to enter the chemical name. Use Unit button and Cost/Unit to enter the rest of the information. The chemical order does NOT matter at for this screen.

  11. Configure Classification Each formula can be assigned a classification. Multiple formulas can be assigned to the same classification. This is used in the Plant Production Report. For example- Formula #1 on Group 1 may be pants, but may be shirts on Group #2 Often, the classification is the same as the formula name. Use name to change existing classifications and Insert to add more.

  12. Edit Vocab Files Use the name button under the chemical units table to change unit01 to Oz. -That is, if you are calibrating in ounces. Click on Save and then exit.

  13. Edit Chemical Assignments This screen is used to assign all of the chemical names in the Catalyst. It is critical that the chemical number match the setup of the Catalyst. Click on Name to edit the chemical #. Units/Lb is only used for Ratiometric injections.

  14. Edit Chemical Assignments The generic names of the chemicals can be used here. The names are limited to 10 characters. They must be in the same order as the Catalyst. They are group specific.

  15. Edit Chemical Assignments Highlight the chemical name in the supply table. Click on the amount button. Enter in .007812- This is the number of Gallons in an Ounce. The conversion will be different if you use other units or other delivered units. The Metric System is much easier.

  16. Edit Chemical Assignments Each group must have the information entered. Click on Change Group ID and select the next group. Click on Import and select the Catalyst Group. Save and repeat for all groups.

  17. Edit Chemical Ratios This is used for Ratio-Metric chemical additions. If you use the % method, you will be prompted for the Oz/Cwt.

  18. Edit Standard Times Standard times for various functions can be entered in this screen. These times are used to generate estimated run times for formulas. This will not work for Catalyst interfaces.

  19. System Defaults This screen allows you to select language, report preference, and most commonly, the RSR time.

  20. System Defaults RSR Time RSR time is when the computer will poll the washers or interfaces and read the production data, save it and reset the machine. This can occur up to 3 times a day.

  21. RSR Time The RSR time will appear in green at the bottom of the center box on the main screen. This will only show the next RSR for that day.

  22. Security Select the Security Option under the Utilities menu.

  23. Security Enter in the following Password- 011754 This will allow you to enter in the set-up Security screen.

  24. Security The default security screen will appear. From this screen, you can add users and give them access to different areas of PulseNet. You must always have a user named “MANAGER”.

  25. Security To add a user, highlight the name in the user box and create a new user. Give that person a password and then check the appropriate Security level. To activate security, check the security enabled box. Save User and exit. You will now need to enter a user and password exit time you open the program, or the program is minimized.

  26. PulseNet PulseNet is now ready to be programmed- Congratulations !!!!!

  27. Site Management Site Management allows the user to maintain multiple locations on one computer. It also serves a s a convenient backup.

  28. Site Management To make a backup, select the store button.

  29. Site Management PulseNet will ask you where you wish to store the site backup. You will generally select the A: drive and store it on a floppy disk. The file is stored as a .ZIP file. If the Database box is left unchecked, the file will be smaller, however, the production data cannot be accessed.

  30. Site Management To retrieve a site, select the retrieve button. Direct PulseNet to the file and open it. PulseNet will automatically unzip the file and create a site. You can select New and create a blank site for a new plant.
