The image below show a cut-a-way view of an Inpro/Seal Air Mizer Isolator properly installed. The following instructions will help assure you of proper installation. Your individual Isolator may vary slightly in size or appearance from the illustrations. All installation instructions, however, remain the same.
The Isolator is held into the housing with a press fit and is held on the shaft by elastomeric drive rings. It is vital that the rotating portion of the Isolator face outboard. Housing Press Fit Bearing Isolator Elastomeric Drive Rings Shaft
The Air Mizer Isolator requires an air supply of 3 psi (200 hPa) The air must be supplied to the Isolator as shown in the sketch below.
1. Use a hand arbor press to press the Isolator into the housing or cover. 2. Be sure that the Isolator is pressed in straight as in image #1 and not cocked as in image #2. Image #2: Incorrect. Pressing in Isolator will result in damage. Image #1: Be sure Isolator is straight.
3. The use of a non-metallic press block is strongly recommended. 4. Be sure the press block adequately covers the surface of the Air Mizer. Non-Metallic disk. Isolator Installed in Cover Use hand arbor press only!
5. Before installation on the shaft, apply a small amount of the supplied lubricant to the O-rings. 6. Also apply a small amount of the lubricant to the shaft and work it over the surface. Work lubricant over surface. Apply supplied lubricant to O-rings Apply supplied lubricant to Shaft
7. Carefully slide the over and Isolator together into position. 8. After the Isolator and cover are installed on the equipment verify that the air supply is connected and supplying air to the Isolator. Air Supply Verify air supply to Isolator.
9. Your Isolator may or may not have an expulsion port. If one is present it must be located at the bottom center position. 10. After installation verify that the Isolator rotates freely with the shaft. Optional expulsion port must be located at the bottom center position.
