Survival Needs • Sunlight • Needed for photosynthesis CO2 + H2O C6H12O6 + O2 • Water and Minerals • Water is needed for photosynthesis • Minerals are for growth
Survival Needs • Gas Exchange • CO2 • IN for photosynthesis • Comes mainly from animals • O2 • OUT for animal respiration • IN for plant respiration
Survival Needs • Movement of Water & Nutrients • Nutrients = food • Small molecules • Passively by diffusion/osmosis • Large molecules • Actively by special tissues
