  4. Opener’s Re-Bids • You open ? • 1 • Partner bids 3 • You have 12 HCP LTC 7 • What is your re-bid? • Pass • Partner’s LTC is 8 • Very tempting but not quite enough for game • A very disciplined bid  A  J  5  4  2  T  9  K  J  4  2  K  3

  5. Opener’s Re-Bids • You open ? • 1 • Partner bids 3 • You have 15 HCP LTC 8 • What is your re-bid? • 3NT • The NT game bid is based on HCP and 4333 shape • 3NT looks a tight call • But 3‘s looks just as tough  A  J  5  4  K  T  9  K  J  4  K  T  3

  23. Re-bids after partner Splinters • You MUST not PASS! • With minimum opener bid game • With better cue bid or RKCB • Strong hand bid slam

  27. Summary • Recognise if partner has made a strong or weak bid • Your re-bid will depend on this • If you know game is on make sure your bid is either game or forcing • Partners tend to pass given a chance!
