  2. 10 mm PIG EMBRYO • Excellent model for understanding early organogenesis of human embryo, as well as other mammalian species. 2 major differences: • External morphology: Length of tail – much longer in pig • Internal morphology: development of kidney – much greater in pig

  3. 10 mm Pig embryo • Total gestation period in pig = 4 months • 10 mm  20-21 days development • 10 mm  contains the rudiments of essentially all adult structure.
