  2. (A)How God views Children

  3. a) Children are a Heritage from God Jews taught their children these words: “Hear, O Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength” (Deu. 6:4-5). “Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him.” (Psalm 127:3).

  4. Genesis 30:18 “God listened to Leah, and she became pregnant.” Deuteronomy 7:13 “He will bless the fruit of your womb.” There is no pleasure in life that can equal the pleasure of seeing your own children grow up.

  5. b) Children need proper Training and Attention. “Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth” (Psalm 127:4). “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it”. (Proverbs 22:6) Most Christian parents are playing defense with their children when they ought to be playing offence.

  6. c) Children are the strength and Honour of the home. “Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate” (Psalm 127:5). No one can tell what a child may become.

  7. d) God Fearing Parents – God Fearing Children. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your sons will be like olive shoots around your table. Thus is the man blessed who fears the Lord” (Psalm 128:3, 4). Happy families are still possible where God’s Word is taken seriously.

  8. (B) Why We Need to Train Sunday School

  9. (1) Sunday School helps children respect, appreciate and utilize the Bible.

  10. (2) Sunday School gives kids a chance to ask questions.

  11. (3) Sunday School develops a community of believers.  A community of children, worshipping, learning the Bible and discovering God together creates a bond that single study can’t accomplish.

  12. (4) Sunday School plants spiritual seeds.

  13. (5) Sunday School teaches children how to navigate the Bible.

  14. (6) Sunday School Improves your Bible Knowledge

  15. (7) Sunday School provides a place to belong • You are known in your class • You can share your needs and concerns • You become a part of group

  16. (8) Sunday School helps in building relationships

  17. (9)Sunday School gives opportunities to serve and minister

  18. (10) Sunday has a place for the whole family
