  1. Rafting – A Sport That Works In Our Rivers Rafting was invented in America on the Colorado River in 1950, but did not appear in France until 1980. In recent years, rafting is a sport that is appreciated by many people in Brahmaputra river. Brahmaputra river rafting is practiced on an inflatable raft about 7 meters long and 3 meters wide, in rivers with a fast current. The crew is composed of 6 to 10 people, usually including a professional guide. Brahmaputra river rafting is conducted either by rowing or paddling. The first option implies that the person is alone downstream of the raft: this requires a lot of concentration and physical strength. When guided by the paddle, the rafters must be very coordinated, under the guidance of the guide. An isothermal suit, a helmet, a safety vest and shoes or booties constitute the equipment of the rafter. The combination is essential because the water in the torrents is cold and a fall after exertion can cause a hydrocution.
