Working Group on Pesticide Education, Training and Certification • Goal to standardize education, training and certification across Canada • Developed Core and Category Standard for all classes of applicators/vendors • Provinces use Standard to develop provincial training manuals and examinations

  3. Benefits of the Standard • Allows provinces to recognize other provincial certificates/licenses that meet the Standard • Industry Associations endorse and support Standard. • Education of applicators consistent and defendable. • Precursor for development of regional/national manuals and examinations

  4. Standard for Pesticide Education Training and Certification • Originally completed in 1995 • Revisions to date: • Core module updated in 2003 • Landscape Category Module updated in 2004 • Structural Category Module updated 2005 • Aerial Category Module completed (in final stages of approval) • Agriculture Category Module to be update in 2005/06 • Online at http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/pmra-arla/english/edutran/edutran-e.html
