Critical Areas for Focus Your own self-study identified and you should continue to work on: Areas for Focus • Improve achievement in literacy and mathematics for all students, particularly the significant subgroups. • Research, develop and support the use of data in all curricular areas. • Increase the percent of all students, including significant subgroups, who satisfactorily meet the UC/CSU “a-g” entrance requirements. As you plan and implement your work, include: • Evidence that all students are receiving standards-based curriculum and instruction. • Use of frequent common formative assessments. • Deliberate monitoring and mandated support for significant subgroups.
Making it happen: Ongoing Work • Dublin High School has a lot going for it • Staff is open to change • Single School Plan aligns w/ Action Plan • District is already moving in the same direction • Successful implementation not dependent on financial support • Successful implantation not dependent on bell changing bell schedule • Paradigm shift: • Focus on teaching to focus on learning • Optional learning to mandated learning • Student responsibility to a teacher responsibility to ensure student success..
