How many more visitors did the museum have today than yesterday? • 2. While at the mall, Cassie bought a skirt for $25.38 and a matching top for $12.89. How much did Cassie spend in all? • 3. The ticket office sold 3867 tickets on Monday and 8927 on Tuesday. How many more tickets did the office sell on Tuesday than on Monday? How many tickets did the office sell in all on Monday and Tuesday? • A store sells shoes that cost $49.99 and sandals that cost $21.89. • A. How much do the shoes and sandals cost altogether? • B. How much more do the shoes cost than the sandals? • C. The store sells gloves that cost $3.90 less than the sandals. How much do the gloves cost? 2217 visitors – 1979 visitors = 238 visitors; The museum had 238 more visitors today than yesterday. $25.38 (skirt) + $12.89 (top) = $38.27; Cassie spent $38.27 in all. 8927 tickets – 3867 tickets = 5060 tickets; The ticket office sold 5060 more tickets on Tuesday than Monday. 3867 tickets + 8927 tickets = 12,794 tickets; They sold 12,794 tickets in all. $49.99 (shoes) + $21.89 (sandals) = $71.88; The shoes and sandals cost $71.88 altogether. $49.99 (shoes) - $21.89 (sandals) = $28.10; The shoes cost $28.10 more than the sandals. $21.89 - $3.90 = $17.99; The gloves cost $17.99.
