Port steps in to safeguard future prosperity • Unified effort by regional businesses, state and federal officials. • Rail line purchased in 2009 for $16.6 million. • Port begins a more than $31 million rehabilitation effort. • $16.5 million in tunnel repairs. • $14 million in track, roadbed and crossing work. • $6 million in critical bridge repairs. • Freight rail service restored in 2011.
