  2. Motivations • Consent-based messaging as an interesting topic • Hallway conversations with IESG, IRTF, and IAB re: convergence of different messaging protocols • Desire to generate some engineering topics for IESG, some research topics for IRTF, and some architectural issues for IAB

  3. Discussion Topics • Solicited write-ups from participants prior to workshop • Split into breakouts • Day 1: Inter-protocol messaging, authorization, negotiation • Day 2: User control, transport, key distribution and identity • Avoid the elephant standing in the room

  4. Output Topic Sampling • Engineering topics • Inter-protocol identifiers for messages and parts • Simpler key distribution • Research topics • Automated introductions • Multi-transport messaging • Architectural topics • Thread and "conversation" management • Inter-protocol trust models

  5. Next Steps • Currently collecting together participant notes and thoughts • Workshop report • Notes and conversation archive • IAB thinking about future workshops
