  1. Continuous Improvement • Diversity, high expectations for everyone are hallmarks of our school - Doing well on required Regents. However, our expectations are that ALL students will do well on ALL exams - Challenge is how to teach ALL the math standards (not just those assessed) AND attain high student learning outcomes in mathematics. Planned improvements in advanced math are: *structural *instructional *assessments

  2. Planned Improvement in Mathematics • Structural • More time in class • Additional math workshops • Restructured sequence

  3. Math Improvements (Continued) • Instructional • Problem-based approach in addition to PBL • Summer “Boot Camp” options • On-line resources like Khan Academy

  4. Math Improvements (Continued) • Assessment/ Sequence • Geometry • Integrated Algebra • Algebra 2/Trig • 3 & 4 year sequence

  5. Math Improvements (this year) • Increased periodic diagnostics (monthly) • Improved PBL math content to better align with tests • Created math specific courses for seniors
