Language Arts • Language Arts Grades are based upon the Common Core language arts standards for third grade.
Writing • Text Types and Purposes - opinion, informative/explanatory, and narratives • Production and Distribution of Writing - planning, revising, editing, and producing (with technology) • Research to Build and Present Knowledge
Third Grade Math • Operations and Algebraic Thinking (OA): patterns and properties of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division: estimation, fact families, multi-step word problems • Number and Operations in Base 10 (NBT): place value and rounding, adding and subtracting within 1000, multiplication and division • Geometry (G): 2 dimensional plane shapes, quadrilaterals, equal parts, fractions
Math Continued • Simple fractions and decimals • Measurement and Data (MD): telling time, elapsed time, time lines, bar graphs, pictographs, line plots, area, perimeter • Number and Operations/Fractions (NF): identifying fractions, fractions on a number line, equivalent fractions, reducing fractions, ordering fractions, whole numbers and fractions, mixed numbers, comparing fractions

Accelerated Reader • Every student will accumulate at least 1 Accelerated Reader point each week • After the completion of twenty-five points, students may choose an animal from my collection • Students will maintain an 80% overall comprehension level on assigned level books • AR tests can be taken at home - go to haberman22.weebly.com, click resources, then the AR icon
Technology Expectations • Use technology to safely search for information • Use a laptop and iPads to participate in school curriculum: Accelerated Reader, Spellingcity, Lexia, Xtramath, Newsela, and some of the I-Suite Programs (imovie, iphoto, powerpoint)
Agendas/Friday Folders • Be sure to check agendas for daily/weekly homework assignments and sign every night!!! • Be sure to check your child’s work in the Friday Folders and return them on Mondays or the first school day of the week
