  2. What is HOPE? Hebrew: tiqvah (teek-va) Literal meaning: cord (Joshua 2:18) Figurative meaning: expectation; something yearned for; eager anticipation; something for which one waits

  3. What is HOPE? Greek: Elpis (el-pees) A sense of confident expectation based on solid certainty

  4. What does HOPE look like to us? Our solid certainty is this: WE WILL BE REUNITED WITH CHRIST

  5. What does HOPE look like to us? Numbers 23:19 “God is not man, that He should lie, or a son of man, that He should change His mind.”

  6. What does HOPE look like to us? Lamentations 3:19-24 “Remember my affliction and roaming, the wormwood and the gall. My soul still remembers and sinks within me. This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. Through the Lord’s mercies we are note consumed,

Isaiah 61:1-3 3 To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
