Characteristics of young learners • A child’s brain aged 5 years is 95% of adults one. • Not all mental process are well – developed • Imaginary thinking • learn from examples • Are not stable emotionally • Are active and very mobile • Have shot attention spans • Are of different types of personality
The criteria for choosing games • to have an aim and purpose • to be enjoyable and interesting • to create a need for children to use English • to allow children to be creative with language • to involve all children
