  1. WP 2: Labour Account Issues The Netherlands

  2. National Account • Labour volume in full-time equivalents • Source: time series Labour Account • Direct link to labour compensation • Temporary/agency workers allocated to bus.services • Labour volume in persons only published via other channels • The intention is not to differ from NA in terms of fte’s • But..best source is not yet decided • Doubts about extrapolation of persons and fte’s backwards in time by Statistics Netherlands

  3. Problems • Almost no information on jobs • Lack availability of annual hours worked • Time series NA will be available from 2007 • Only information on contractual hours per person • Lack of disaggregated data across industries • Most disaggregated level is probably 49 industries • Method of constructing time series • Extrapolation backwards based on growth rates boosts historical figures • Better method is using benchmark year(s) as levels

  4. How do we continue • Joint work with Statistics Netherlands • Decisions on constructing persons employed • Search for additional sources (also related to quality characteristics) • Assessment of these sources • Guidelines on 2nd approach WP2
