  1. JOURNEY INTO SPACE

  2. OUR SOLAR SYSTEM Our solar system Our solar system is made up of a star - the Sun - eight planets, 144 moons, a bunch of comets, asteroids and space rocks, ice and several dwarf planets, such as Pluto.

  3. My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto Mercury is closest to the Sun. Neptune is the farthest.

  4. What is the main difference between planets and stars? • The Earth is a planet and the main difference between planets, including the Earth, and stars is that stars shine with their own light whereas planets shine by reflected light from the star around which they orbit.

  5. THE SUN Our Sun is a star which scientists have named Sol. This is why our system of planets is called the Solar System. DID YOU KNOW? Light from the Sun can reach the Earth in only 8 minutes! This is called the speed of light. The Sun is nearly 93 million miles (approx 145 million km) from Earth.
