  3. NSF Request-A well developed schedule with milestones, frequent checkpoints, and metrics for ACBA • Enhanced technical metrics at the interfaces between components {e.g. how to determine the successful integration of the cell separation stage with the cell manipulation stage, before it has built the entire system?} • Realistic milestones (1-3 months) to catch and resolve expected/unexpected challenges are fleshed out in a timely manner. {e.g. intermediate milestones need to reach the 3-year goal of single cell separation/isolation is achieved} • Plans to monitor and address interfacial issues. {a system may work just right at the component level, but fails at the interfaces. Also, the system may fail as errors build up at interfaces until the total error leads to functional failure.} • How the modeling expertise to assist in both planning and executing the system integration program
