Between 2006 and 2009 Camden ran termly interventions conferences with the following aims • To support the development of innovative use of Wave 2 • and Wave 3 resources in Literacy and Mathematics • To provide schools with support for managing • interventions and to work on developing effective models • To disseminate up to date information on national • initiatives in interventions
Key to the success of the project was the role of the Intervention ManagerThis role involves:• Ensuring the conditions for successful interventions are met• Liasing with key subject / phase leaders and SENCO• Supporting class teachers in planning for inclusion• Managing the provision of interventions across the school• Keeping up to date with resources and ideas for good practiceMany Intervention Managers are now school AfA leads

Camden LA - Where we are going next • Interventions Project has become part of ‘Achievement for All’ • (Intervention Managers / SENCOs likely to be school AfA lead) • Bursaries of up to £1000 to support innovative projects • Support for schools willing to trial new materials • Central and in-school training and support for interventions • Developing the use of APP as a key assessment tool for levelling • accurately, identifying areas of weakness and monitoring progress • Mediating implementation of national programmes and new • interventions: ECAR, ECC, Catch Up ……
