St Erth Parish Highway Improvements • Cornwall Council to work with St Erth Parish’s Highway Improvements Group to identify potential traffic improvements • Schemes will be grouped into short, medium and long term aspirations • Stakeholder engagement will be maintained over scheme implementation • Traffic data (accidents statistics, vehicular, pedestrian and cycles) to be shared

Treloweth Lane Project Update • See handout for current footway plan • Next steps include: • Final assessment to review current proposal and identify gaps. • Confirm final design, costs and delivery timescales • Scheme is committed and will be delivered as part of our minor highways programme • If viable, Cornwall Council will deliver before St Erth Multi Modal Hub opens

  5. Village Traffic Study • Measured traffic movements 7am to 7pm on a traffic neutral month weekday • Monitored HGV movements • Considered traffic calming options to deter traffic exiting station from using St Erth Village as a through route

  7. HGV movements • 117 HGVs recorded during 7am to 7pm, which represents 2.7% of all traffic • Routes where HGV movement recorded: • Treloweth Lane NB&SB – 44 in total • Tredrea Lane WB&EB – 38 in total • ChenhallsRoad NB&SB – 23 in total • St Erth Hill EB&WB – 12 in total

  8. Light Vehicle Traffic Movements • 4238 vehicles recorded during 7am to 7pm, which represents 97.3% of all traffic • Treloweth Lane NB/SB – 1725 in total • Chenhalls Road NB/SB – 1207 in total • Tredrea Lane WB/EB – 852 in total • St Erth Hill EB/WB – 454 in total

Traffic Movements Summary • Study concluded a small amount of traffic uses St Erth as a through route. • Across the surveyed day, 0.7% of traffic travelling into St Erth from the A30 was Helston bound and 3.3% was travelling from Helston through to the A30 • HGVs account for 2.7% of total traffic

Traffic Calming Options • Improvements suggested for consideration and possibly add to transport priority map: • Build Outs – suggested locations near to bridge and Treloweth Lane • Speed Cushions on Treloweth lane and relocation of 30mph signage to encourage drivers to slow down • Gateway – introduce features on Treloweth Lane, Tredrea Lane and Chenhalls Road and introduce 20mph within village limits • One Way on Chenhalls Road • Traffic Signals – signalised bridge crossing or signalised junction of Treloweth Lane with Sita access road

  12. Key Project Dates • Sept. 2016:Issue Design & Build Tender • Jan. 2017: Appoint Design and Build Contract • June 2017: Anticipated Start of Construction on site • June 2018: End of Construction on site facility becomes operational • June 2019: Landscaping and Aftercare Activities

Step Free Bridge Next Steps • Positive meeting on Tuesday 5th July, agreement to develop new design and in principle approval for removal of existing bridge • Network Rail to engage consultants to get design work underway • Further rounds of stakeholder engagement to discuss outline designs • Consideration of applicant for Listed Building Consent • Gain approval from stakeholders prior to Listed Building Consent application submission
