Steps Continued Get a “Test Administrator” (SBAC) login • Test Examiner is for the Alternate Assessment • Added by Test Site Coordinator (SC) through TOMS “Credentialed or licensed employee who administers both standard and alternate summative assessments and interim assessments to students, confirms student test settings in the TA Interface, and ensures test session security. Accesses completion status reports in the ORS and has read-only access to assessment results for students in an associated roster in the ORS.   6. Steps continued Determine which math version braille reading students will take • Take the ELA and Math Computer Adapted Test (CAT). This option requires a Tiger embosser to emboss all math questions. (No further action is necessary) • Take the ELA Computer Adapted Test (CAT) and the Math Fixed Form Computer Test with an embossed graphics package. The graphics package will include all the .prn files. Using this option requires any embosser that can emboss .brf files. • Take the ELA and Math paper exam. (Not recommended) If students will be using either the graphics package (option b) or the paper exam (option c), LEA’S or testing administrators must contact the LEA Outreach and Advocacy Team.  Amerina Chu, achu@ets.org, 925-808-2284 will be available to answer all questions.   8. Computer Requirements Update all Computers • Secure Browser- http://ca.browsers.airast.org/ *Braille translator software is needed if you only need to emboss brf files because the graphics package was ordered

Using Magnification • Zoomtext 10.1 (See Configuring ZT to secure browser) • Magic 12 • Configure settings and save them • Start magnification before you start the secure browser • Secure Browser will be pixilated • Set Zoom Level to 4 • Know magnification short cut keys. There is no access to program window once browser is opened

  11. JAWS and Braille Display Configurations • Configure JAWS Settings • Connect Braille Display • Configure JAWS for Secure Browser • Configure embossers and check to make sure .brf and .prn files will print. • Start JAWS before you start the secure browser

  13. Recap • Practice, practice, practice- students must use the equipment often before taking the test • Login as TA and as student. Make sure all systems are working • Math must be embossed for braille students! • Answers cannot be inputted on braille display using Nemeth
