  1. School identity! By Delvin, Farland, Akash and Aaron

  2. School identity • Describe a person’s conception and expression of their group affiliation • The image the school wants to portray to the people of the public

  3. School Identity - Is our identity fixed? No. Our identity is constantly changing to adapt to the current situation. • What is the school identity to you? The school identity to us is the image we want to display in public

  4. Respect Holding someone in high regard Not making fun of others

  5. What does this have to do with our school Identity? Our school motto is to be caring, diligent and loyal Caring and loyal is a form of respect We aim to be a school known for our respectful students.

  6. The problem we faced… • We discovered that White Sandians are not respectful enough • Primary 3 & 4 pupils are more compliant and cooperative than Primary 5 & 6 pupils • We chose this problem as we thought WSPS should become a school with respectful students

  7. So…. • We decided to interview a group of pupils, prefects and teachers • These were our questions and results…

  8. Interview questions What does respect mean to you? Do you think you are respectful? -Give an example Why is respect an important trait? When you respect somebody, do they treat you in the same way?

  9. Interview responses 1)courtesy 2)No-4 Yes-10 E.g. Being kind 3)Good manners 4) Yes-14 Sometimes-1 Often-1

  10. Possible solution to our problem… • We should focus more on the P5 & P6 pupils as they are maturing and more rebellious • We should also focus on P4 pupils to reduce the chances of them becoming rebellious before they get to P5

  11. Reflection • Delvin-I felt that we contributed and I had a great time working. Respect is very important. • Akash-Although the project was difficult, I had a great time working with my team-mates. Respect is reciprocal.

  12. Reflections • Aaron-I feel that we didn’t do our fair share of work and we had a great time working together. Respect is a very important trait. • Farland-I feel that some people in my group did almost nothing to contribute. Working on this topic helped me realise that respect is important for our survival.
