FDR’S New deal work relief programs • Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA)funded the CWA, CCC, and PWA which were all enacted in 1933 • Civilian Works Administration (CWA) helped employ 16 million Americans by funding road-related construction projects, re-cataloging books in public libraries, constructing retaining walls, digging drainage ditches, and cleaning parks. Consisted of skilled and unskilled workers. • Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) provide job assistance to 2.5 million young men. Said to be the most popular reform measure of the New Deal. Consisted of skilled and unskilled workers. • Public Works Administration(PWA) used for more complex job tasks such as addressing natural disasters, building bridges, airports, dams, and schools. Consisted mostly of skilled workers, project managers, and contractors.
