2. Plants and Animals Overview The plants and animals were very important to early Egyptians. The plants were used for food and to make items they needed. The animals were used in signs, symbols and sometimes feared by the Egyptians. The plants and animals were an important factor of Egyptian culture.

4. A crocodile was one of the animals found in the marshy areas of Egypt. The Egyptians disliked the crocodile. The Hippo was another animal in Egypt and was feared by the people.

5. The Water Lily became a very important symbol in Egypt. Papyrus was a very important plant to early Egyptians . It was used to make paper, sandals, boats, ropes and paintbrushes.
