  4. What is adaptation? • Structural—adjustments to internal or external physical structures • Some of these help adaptations help organisms survive in certain environments.

  5. Use the book to find the structural adaptations for each of the following: • 1. puffer fish • 2. roses • 3. cactus • 4. ducks • 5. turtles • 6. sharks • 8 minutes

  6. Behavioral adaptations– adjustment in an organism’s behavior. • Examples include: wolves traveling in packs, that look from Mrs. Longworth, fish swimming in schools

  7. Today: • Read pages 168-172 • Exit question: • Put your name at the top and turn in as you go out the door.

  8. Choose 1 animal and give a structural adaptation and a behavioral adaptation for the chosen animal.
