Description: Middle and high school-age programs expose students to instruction in the principles of unmanned aerial flight. Students are afforded opportunity to design/build/remotely pilot aircraft in local and international competitions. Local Programs: -AERO Services -Zenith Challenge Project -Synergy Hampton Roads • Supporting Chapter Objectives : • Support STEM activities to promote educational value of future Young AFCEANs • Fund STEM projects • Provide publicity of chapter activities in support of our communities • Increase public awareness of AFCEA International • Provide visibility for the team during select Monthly • Membership Luncheons • Encourage attendance at special functions like our Volunteer Social, booth participation at JWC STEM: UAV Support • International Collegiate Competition 13-17 Jun: • Students spent Memorial Day weekend (Sat-Mon) honing remote piloting skills and fine tuning the aircraft - Collectively, students, parents, mentors, and team leaders paid over $10,000 in out-of -pocket expenses • Contributions to off-set the • out-of-pocket expenses to • get this team into this • year’s competition • would be greatly • appreciated!
