DIGNITY AT WORK What is meant by Bullying? “Repeated inappropriate behaviour that undermines your right to dignity at work” It can take many different forms such as: • Social exclusion and isolation • Damaging someone’s reputation by gossip or rumours • Intimidation • Aggressive or obscene language • Repeated requests with impossible tasks or targets What is meant by Harassment? “The Employment Equality Acts 1998-2015 define harassment as “unwanted conduct” which is related to any of the 9 discriminatory grounds” What is meant by Sexual Harassment? “Sexual harassment is any form of “unwanted verbal, non-verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature” *Be mindful that bullying/harassment can happen outside of 9-5*
GRIEVANCE What is a grievance in the workplace ? Grievance Procedure “Is a complaint which an employee(s) has concerning theirterms and conditions of employment, working environment or working relationships.” *You always have the right to appeal a decision*
Examples of what is considered Misconduct and Gross Misconduct Employees are expected to act in a responsible manner and perform their duties as expected
Annual Leave Info 17/18 Annual Leave Entitlements Requesting Annual Leave • You are entitled to 22 days AL from per annum: 1st July 2016 until 30th June 2017 • You do not have to disclose why you are taking leave- this is your private business • Please note: all your leave must be taken before the end of your term- it is a legal requirement
Sick Leave • 7 days paid (non consecutive) uncertified sick leave per annum. • If you are absent on a Friday and Monday you are considered to be absent for 4 days and a medical cert will be required • For long term sick leave or special leave, please see Occupational Sick Leave Policy or Protection leave policy- speak with HR and Training Executive
Using your work calendar • Please note- NOpersonal items to be added to the work calendar. • When entering annual leave, simply put your name or initials followed by AL on the date/s you are taking E.g Sarah AL OR SC AL
