The Top 10 Style Rules You Should Live By Whether it’s brightening your wardrobe up with some fab accessories, or donning that perfect scarf, we have the best style tips you should never live without. Great Expert Tips From… SUZANNE BAKER PERSONAL IMAGE CONSULTANT IN LONDON The Top Style Rules You Should Live By 1.Strategically show skin. Be truly sexy by knowing what to bare, and what to keep covered. Choose one body part you want to show off, just one! If you want to show some cleavage, cover your legs. If you want to show your legs off, keep your top covered. 2.Try some bright coloured accessories. If your wardrobe is looking a bit drab, add some spice and energy with boldly coloured shoes and bags. A bright coloured bag is lively and versatile. Try out a range of different colours and see which one’s complement each other best. SUZANNE BAKER | www.imagemstyle.co.uk | T: 07887 483 321 E: Suzanne@imagemstyle.co.uk
3.Try a scarf. A scarf is the ultimate accessory for many people. Carry one with you in your handbag to transform your look on the go. A scarf can be worn with a simple t-‐shirt, or with a more dressy look. 4.Think about the care of your clothes. Look at the piece before you buy it. Do you think it will look the same after a few washes? If you can’t take care of the item properly, don’t buy it. If you know you won’t ever hand-‐wash a cashmere jumper, walk away from it. 5.Find the right fit for your shape. Filter what you wear to the silhouettes that are the most flattering on you. So if you’re petite and curvy, it’s best to avoid billowy maxis even though we love them. Go for more definition at the waist, and an above the knee hem. 6.Start making lists. Find your 10 favourite items in your wardrobe, and make a list of them. This will help you find those pieces in the store that will mesh the best with what you already own, and stop you wasting money. 7.Stay organised. Look at your wardrobe. You need to be able to see every item in it without rummaging. If you haven’t wore it in a year, throw it out or donate it to charity. Clothes need breathing space too! 8.Don’t be afraid of colour. Combine neutral colours with bolder ones for a new look. Try not to pair any intense colours with black, as this tends to look outdated. Note what colours you love and try them out. 9.Be careful of a bargain. Just because it’s cheap doesn’t mean you need it. Ignore the voice that says if you don’t have it now, you’ll never find it again. You will, and it might not suit you anyway. 10.Create a personal lookbook. Are you loving the outfit you’ve picked out today? Take a picture of it and start your own lookbook. Next time you’re stuck for what to wear, you can look back at it and instantly have the perfect outfit.
