Accommodation Ideas • The student will be allowed extended time to complete tests. • The student will be allowed and alternative site to complete a test. • The student will be allowed to have the test read to him/her. • The student will be allowed to have tests on tape.
Accommodation Ideas cont’d • The student will be allowed a proofreader for written work especially when spelling and grammar are not essential parts of grading. • The student will be allowed the use of teacher notes or another student’s notes from the lectures to copy into his/her notes for use. • The student will be allowed use of alternative methods to show what he/she knows. This might include a project, model or presentation. • The student will be allowed a tape recorder for class lectures or directions.
Accommodation Ideas cont’d • The student will be allowed the use of a calculator as needed, in class or on tests. • The student will be allowed the option of an essay test in place of objective tests. • The student will be allowed the option of word processing for both lengthy written assignments and tests. • The student will be allowed a scribe for lengthy written responses in class assignments or on tests.
Accommodation Ideas cont’d • The student will be allowed alternative format to answer sheets if the format is unacceptable. (Fill in the dot in the row) • The student will be allowed extended time for lengthy written assignments or research papers as needed, as prearranged by the student, regular teacher, and special educator. • The student will be allowed the use of oral tests in place of written tests.
