OBJECTIVES • Networks bring together researchers and students from different disciplines and organisations to share their knowledge • NGED: researchers from the previously distinct disciplines of developmental biology and developmental physiology • Our aim: to better understand developmental regulatory networks and how environmental factors impinge on them. • The NGED addresses specific major research questions in 3 key areas: Name of event

  5. WHAT WE DO • Foster communication among members (newsletter, web page) • Annual NGED Forum • Disciplinary Interchange Program • Technology Leadership Courses for Early Career Scientists and PhD Students • Promote NGED by sponsoring sessions at selected conferences Name of event

MEMBERSHIP • In the process of its formation the membership of the NGED was inclusive (56 founding members) • Today, the Membership Committee is responsible for the sustenance and recruitment of new members. • Our aim: to establish a member base that • Reflects a healthy balance ofresearchers, young investigators, postgraduate students, industry representatives, end users and international members • Represents different organisations, states and territories from across Australia • Includes researchers willing to actively participate in Network activities (sharing knowledge, foster communication and promote inter-disciplinary collaborations) Name of event
