Agency Statistics More than 8.029 bridges in the state are owned and maintained by TDOT. They are inspected for safety every two years. Due to an active construction program, Tennessee’s roads are consistently ranked in the top five in the nation. TDOT maintains 1,073 miles of interstate and 13,077 miles of state roads.
