History of skateboards • The first skateboards were actually more like scooters, with the undercarriage consisting of roller skate wheels attached to a two by four. • Once the push bar of the scooter-like contraption was broken off, skateboarding was born.
New school skateboards • New design of trucks where the wheels go onto axle • And new design of decks with 7 ply's of maple
Process to make skate boards • You first need veneers (different thicknesses of wood that will be glued together to form the skateboard) • Will need a wood or concrete mold to shape the deck • And a bottle jack to press the 7 layers together • And if you are applying graphics you will need silk screen
