  1. Experiment -Testing the principle of moments • 1. Balance the ruler carefully at its midpoint. If necessary, you can add a blob of plasticine to one side until the ruler balances. • 2. Then add weights as shown. Move one of the weights until the ruler balances. • 3. Measure the distances, and record your results in a table. • 4. Do this several times, with different weights and different distances.
