  2. DATOS HISTÓRICOSNOMBRE ORIGINAL. El nombre de Prádena procede del latín, de -pratum-, prado, y del sufijo -ena-, que quizás sea una abundancia de la palabra heno.Por su ubicación, en la comarca actual segoviana de la sierra, en el vértice norte de la Cordillera de Guadarrama que constituye el límite de las provincias de Madrid y Segovia, fue puesto su sobrenombre, "de la Sierra", que le distingue de otros pueblos existentes en la provincia de Madrid • Iglesia de San Martín (S. XVIII) • Cueva de los Enebralejos • Comida típica: caldereta de cordero ( plato típico de los pastores traído de Extremadura) • Vista aérea de Prádena
