Al Fatihah • [1] In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [2] Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; • [3] Most Gracious, Most Merciful; • [4] Master of the Day of Judgment. • [5] Thee do we worship, and Thine aid we seek, • [6] Show us the straight way, • [7] The way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace, those whose (portion) is not wrath, and who go not astray.

  6. Al Baqarah • In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [1] Alif Lam Mim. • [2] This is the book; in it is guidance, sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah; • [3] Who believe in the Unseen, are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them; • [4] And who believe in the Revelation sent to thee, and sent before thy time, and (in their hearts) have the assurance of the Hereafter. • [5] They are on (true guidance), from their Lord, and it is these who will prosper. • [6] As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe.

  7. Al-i-I’mran • In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [1] Alif Lam Mim. • [2] Allah! there is no god but He, the Living, the Self-Subsisting, Eternal. • [3] It is He Who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Musa) and the Gospel (of 'Isa). • [4] Before this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent down the Criterion (of judgment between right and wrong). Then those who reject Faith in the Signs of Allah will suffer the severest penalty, and Allah is Exalted in Might, Lord of Retribution. • [5] From Allah, verily nothing is hidden on earth or in the heavens.

  8. An- Nisaa • In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [1] O mankind! reverence your Guardian-Lord, who created you from a single Person, created, of like nature, his mate, and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women; fear Allah, through Whom ye demand your mutual (rights), and (reverence) the wombs (that bore you): for Allah ever watches over you. • [2] To orphans restore their property (when they reach their age), nor substitute (your) worthless things for (their) good ones; and devour not their substance (by mixing it up) with your own. For this is indeed a great sin.

  9. Al Maidah • In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [1] O ye who believe! Fulfil (all) obligations. Lawful unto you (for food) are all four-footed animals, with the exceptions named: but animals of the chase are forbidden while ye are in the Sacred Precincts or in pilgrim garb: for Allah doth command according to His Will and Plan. • [2] O ye who believe! violate not the sanctity of the Symbols of Allah, nor of the sacred month, nor of the animals brought for sacrifice, nor the garlands that mark out such animals, nor the people resorting to the Sacred House, seeking of the bounty and good pleasure of their Lord. But when ye are clear of the Sacred Precincts and of pilgrim garb, ye may hunt, and let not the hatred of some people in (once) shutting you out of the Sacred Mosque lead you to transgression (and hostility on your part). Help ye one another in righteousness and piety, but help ye not one another in sin and rancour: fear Allah: for Allah is strict in punishment.

  10. Al-An‘am • In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [1] Praise be to Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and made the Darkness and the Light. Yet those who reject Faith hold (others) as equal with their Guardian-Lord. • [2] He it is Who created you from clay, and then decreed a stated term (for you). And there is in His Presence another determined term; yet ye doubt within yourselves! • [3] And He is Allah in the heavens and on earth. He knoweth what ye hide, and what ye reveal, and He knoweth the (recompense) which ye earn (by your deeds).

  11. Al- A’raf • In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [1] Praise be to Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and made the Darkness and the Light.   12. Al-Anfal • In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [1] Praise be to Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and made the Darkness and the Light.   13. At-Touba • [1] A (declaration) of immunity from Allah and His Messenger, to those of the Pagans with whom ye have contracted mutual alliances. • [2] Go ye, then, for four months, backwards and forwards, (as ye will), throughout the land, but know ye that ye cannot frustrate Allah (by your falsehood) but that Allah will cover with shame those who reject Him. • [3] And an announcement from Allah and His Messenger, to the people (assembled) on the day of the Great Pilgrimage - that Allah and His Messenger dissolve (treaty) obligations with the Pagans. If then, ye repent, it were best for you; but if ye turn away, know ye that ye cannot frustrate Allah. And proclaim a grievous penalty to those who reject Faith.

  14. YunUs • In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [1] Alif Lam Ra, these are the Ayats of the Book of Wisdom. • [2] Is it a matter of wonderment to men that We have sent Our inspiration to a man from among themselves? That he should warn mankind (of their danger), and give the good news to the Believers that they have before their Lord the lofty rank of Truth. (But) say the Unbelievers: "This is indeed an evident sorcerer!" • [3] Verily your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days, then He established Himself on the Throne (of authority), regulating and governing all things. No intercessor (can plead with Him) except after His leave (hath been obtained). This is Allah your Lord; Him therefore serve ye: will yet not receive admonition?

  15. Hud • In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [1] Alif Lam Ra. (This is) a Book, with verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning) - further explained in detail - from One Who is Wise and Well-Acquainted (with all things): • [2] (It teacheth) that ye should worship none but Allah. (Say:) "Verily I am (sent) unto you from Him to warn and to bring glad tidings: • [3] "(And to preach thus), 'Seek ye the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him in repentance; that He may grant you enjoyment, good (and true), for a term appointed, and bestow His abounding grace on all who abound in merit! but if ye turn away, then I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day:

  16. Yusuf • In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [1] Alif Lam Ra. These are the Symbols (or Verses) of the Perspicuous Book. • [2] We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur-an, in order that ye may learn wisdom. • [3] We do relate unto thee the most beautiful of stories, in that We reveal to thee this (portion of the) Qur-an: before this, thou too was among those who knew it not. • [4] Behold, Yusuf said to his father: "O my father! I did see eleven stars and the sun and the moon: I saw them prostrate themselves to me!"

  17. Ar-Ra’d • In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [1] Alif Lam Mim Ra. These are the Signs (or Verses) of the Book: that which hath been revealed unto thee from thy Lord is the Truth; but most men believe not. • [2] Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that ye can see; then He established Himself on the Throne (of Authority); He has subjected the sun and the moon (to His Law)! Each one runs (its course) for a term appointed. He doth regulate all affairs, explaining the Signs in detail, that ye may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord.

  18. Ibrahim • In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [1] Alif Lam Ra. A Book which We have revealed unto thee, in order that thou mightest lead mankind out of the depths of darkness into light - by the leave of their Lord - to the Way of (Him) the Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise! • [2] Of Allah, to Whom do belong all things in the heavens and on earth! But alas for the Unbelievers for a terrible Penalty (their Unfaith will bring them)! • [3] Those who love the life of this world more than the Hereafter, who hinder (men) from the Path of Allah and seek therein something crooked: they are astray by a long distance.

  19. Al-Hijir • In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [1] Alif Lam Ra. These are the Ayats of Revelation, of a Qur-an that makes things clear. • [2] Again and again will those who disbelieve, wish that they had bowed (to Allah's Will) in Islam. • [3] Leave them alone, to enjoy (the good things of this life) and to please themselves: let (false) Hope amuse them: soon will knowledge (undeceive them). • [4] Never did We destroy a population that had not a term decreed and assigned beforehand. • [5] Neither can a people anticipate its Term, nor delay it. • [6] They say: "O thou to whom the Message is being revealed! Truly thou art mad (or possessed)!

  20. An-Nahl • In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [1] (Inevitably) cometh (to pass) the Command of Allah: seek ye not then to hasten it: glory to Him, and far is He above having the partners they ascribe unto Him! • [2] He doth send down His angels with inspiration of His Command, to such of His servants as He pleaseth, (saying) "Warn (Man) that there is no god but I: so do your duty unto Me." • [3] He has created the heavens and the earth for just ends: far is He above having the partners they ascribe to Him! • [4] He has created man from a sperm-drop; and behold this same (man) becomes an open disputer!

  21. Al-Israa • In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [1] Glory to (Allah) Who did take His servant for a Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque, whose precincts We did bless, in order that We might show him some of Our Signs: for He is the One Who heareth and seeth (all things). • [2] We gave Musa the Book and made it a Guide to the Children of Israel, (commanding): "Take not other than Me as Disposer of (your) affairs." • [3] O ye that are sprung from those whom We carried (in the Ark) with Nuh! verily he was a devotee most grateful.

  22. Al-kahf • In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [1] Praise be to Allah, Who hath sent to His Servant the Book, and hath allowed therein no Crookedness: • [2] (He hath made it) Straight (and Clear) in order that He may warn (the godless) of a terrible Punishment from Him, and that He may give Glad Tidings to the Believers who work righteous deeds, that they shall have a goodly Reward, • [3] Wherein they shall remain forever: • [4] Further, that He may warn those (also) who say, "Allah hath begotten a son": • [5] No knowledge have they of such a thing, nor had their fathers. It is a grievous thing that issues from their mouths as a saying: What they say is nothing but falsehood!

  23. Maryam • In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [1] Kaf, Ha, Ya, 'Ain, Sad. • [2] (This is) a recital of the Mercy of thy Lord to His servant Zakariya. • [3] Behold! he cried to his Lord in secret, • [4] Praying: "O my Lord! infirm indeed are my bones, and the hair of my head doth glisten with grey: but never am I unblest, O my Lord, in my prayer to Thee! • [5] "Now I fear (what) my relatives (and colleagues) (will do) after me: but my wife is barren: so give me an heir as from Thyself,

  24. Ta-ha • In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. • [1] Ta-ha. • [2] We have not sent down the Qur-an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, • [3] But only as an admonition to those who fear (Allah), • [4] A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high. • [5] (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). • [6] To Him belongs what is in the heavens and on earth, and all between them, and all beneath the soil. • [7] If thou pronounce the word aloud, (it is no matter); For verily He knoweth what is secret and what is yet more hidden.
