  2. Word Problem #1 • The first airship was built in 1852. It had a volume of 88,000 cubic feet and could support 5,650 pounds. In 1937 the second largest airship was built. It had a volume of 7,063,000 cubic feet. The weight of an airship varies directly with its volume. How much weight could the larger airship support? 452,032 pounds

  3. Word Problem #2 The tail and body lengths of 8 alligators are shown below. • Write a model that relates tail length to body length. y = 0.9x • Estimate the length of an alligator whose tail length is 4.5 feet. 5 feet long

  4. Word Problem #3 The Ramirez family is driving cross-country on vacation. They drive 330 miles in 5.5 hours. • Write a direct variation equation to find the distance driven for any number of hours. y = 60x • Estimate how far they would drive in 8 hours. 480 miles

  5. Dustin ran a 26-mile marathon in 3.25 hours. Write a direct variation equation to find the distance run for any number of hours. A. d = h B. d = 8h C. d = 8 D.
